Govt.Khawzawl College: Study Tour Report

The study tour organized by Government Khawzawl College (for selected students of Final Semester on the basis of their performance in Class attendance and Semester Examination) commenced on the night of 1st April 2026. The group departed from Khawzawl at 10:30 PM by Maxi Cab and traveled overnight to Sairang. The team arrived at Sairang Railway Station at approximately 3:30 AM on 2nd April 2026.

From Sairang, the group boarded the Kolkata–Sairang Express at 7:00 AM on 2nd April 2026. After a long but comfortable train journey, the group reached Kolkata at around 6:00 PM on 3rd April 2026. Upon arrival, accommodation was arranged at Mizoram House, New Town, where all participants stayed during their visit.

On 4th April 2026, the group undertook a full-day sightseeing program. The students and faculty visited several important landmarks and institutions in Kolkata. These included the Alipore Zoological Garden, where they observed a wide variety of animal species; the iconic Victoria Memorial, which provided insights into India’s colonial history; Jadavpur University, one of the premier educational institutions in India; and Nicco Park, where the group enjoyed recreational activities and relaxation.

The following two days, 5th and 6th April 2026, were mainly devoted to shopping and exploring the local markets of Kolkata. This allowed the students to experience the culture, lifestyle, and commercial environment of the city.

After completing the study tour, the group departed from Kolkata on 7th April 2026 (corrected for logical sequence) by the Kolkata–Sairang Express for their return journey. They arrived back at Khawzawl at approximately 12:00 AM on 8th April 2026.

Conclusion

The study tour was both educational and enjoyable. It provided students with valuable exposure to historical sites, academic institutions, and urban life outside their home state. The experience contributed to broadening their knowledge, enhancing social interaction, and creating lasting memories.
