The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic
fervour on 15th August, 2026 at Mualvawm Field, Khawzawl. The programme was organised to
commemorate the historic occasion of India’s independence and to pay tribute to the freedom
fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation. All the academic institutions and government departments and
general public of Khawzawl participated in the celebration, reflecting the spirit of unity and
national pride.
Compere of the Programme
The entire programme was gracefully conducted by the following faculty members of
Government Khawzawl College, who served as Compere:

2. Lalchhanhima, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Government Khawzawl
College
Their efficient and coordinated presentation ensured the smooth flow of the programme
and added dignity to the occasion.
Participation of NCC Contingent
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of Government Khawzawl College actively
participated in the Independence Day parade. The cadets proudly marched as the Unarmed
Contingent. Their disciplined drill, smart turnout, and coordinated movements reflected the high
standards of training and the spirit of discipline and patriotism instilled through the NCC. The
participation of the College NCC contingent added colour and solemnity to the parade and was
appreciated by all present.
